Ok, do I have permission to be, like, super girly today? Because I’m pretty excited to talk beauty products with you gals. If you’ve read even a single blog post of mine so far, I’m sure you know about my unrequited love for Fall. (I’m still waiting for Fall to love me back. Ehem, I’m looking at you, 88 degree weather that’s causing my forehead to bead with sweat. Wait, what? Gross.) But even if I can’t roll around in freshly raked piles of crispy golden leaves while wearing cozy knits and riding boots, I sure am gonna find a way to enjoy this season! I curated a list of my current favorite beauty products, and threw in a few items that are completely autumn-approved.
Let’s dive right in! I’m really loving this BB cream because of how light and smooth it is. It seamlessly glides on without caking, and lasts all day. The one downside is that it doesn’t have SPF, so don’t forget to use a moisturizer with sun protection before applying (I use this one). If I’m in a rush, I just apply my BB cream with my fingers, but when I have more than 2 minutes to get ready, I LOVE using my Beautyblender. It makes such a difference as long as you use it as instructed. And I’m all about finding more economical options for things, but I’m sorry to say that every knock-off I’ve ever tried has paled in comparison to the real Beautyblender.
The next step in polishing your Fall look is filling in those brows. The pencil-thin brows of the 90’s and early 00’s are over. While I’m not saying you should never wax, tweeze, or pluck again, it IS okay to let them have a bit more volume. My Swedish genes must be very weak, because my eyebrows are almost nonexistent. I need all the help I can get with my brows, and Anastasia brow products are the go-to standard when it comes to filling in those patchy eyebrows.
For eyeshadows, I really love Urban Decay’s Naked3 palette, but couldn’t digest spending over $50 just to try it out (I already own the Naked2 palette), so I followed the advice of my bestie and tried out the cheaper dupe: Blushed Nudes by Maybelline. Although I find that it requires a bit more product when applying, I’m loving the colors! And the price point is much more palatable (pun intended). Finish your eye look by lining those lids with the most amazing liner you’ll ever use. Ladies, I know it’s $24, but wait for that special Ulta coupon, or treat yourself for your birthday. It’s amazing. Guaranteed. Brush on some Smashbox blush onto your cheeks for an all-day healthy glow. To take your look into the evening (or for the daring beauty-savvy ones out there), glide on this M.A.C. lipstick in the shade “Dark Side” and pucker up! It’s the perfect shade of burgundy for a vampy Fall lip without looking too serious or heavy.
Here in Miami, we may have the privilege of tanning at the beach year-round, but that’s not all that great for our skin anyway. I use this Jergens natural glow moisturizer. I only use it about once a week, but I find that that’s enough to give me a bit of a glow to get me through this Fall/Winter season.
And lastly, try out these nail hues to keep your mani looking Fall-fresh. I’m really loving all the wine and copper shades out there, aren’t you? (I know my Seminole friends are! Sorry fellow Canes. It pains me to say it, but orange and green just aren’t nearly as chic.)
